In Texas, your criminal record can be erased through an expungement/expunction proceeding or permanently sealed through a non-disclosure order. You may be eligible for expungement if you were arrested, but never charged; or if you were charged, but the charges were dropped; or if you were charged, but acquitted at trial.
If you were charged and pled guilty, or if you were convicted, but the judge elected to defer final adjudication pending completion of probation or another diversionary program, you may be eligible to have your criminal record sealed through a non-disclosure order.
